Mobile Monday Cleveland, the area networking group presented by Pervasive Path, is excited to be a community sponsor for OHTec’s Tech Week 2015.
Launched by OHTec in 2011, Tech Week is an annual initiative to support, celebrate and engage the local tech community. Our original intent was to expand upon the Best of Tech Awards and to increase awareness of the IT industry in Northeast Ohio. Since then, we’ve expanded our efforts by developing new partnerships to include programming that supports entrepreneurs, executives, students, educators and other stakeholders of the IT industry.
In support of Tech Week, the Mobile Monday Speaker Series & Networking Event on April 13th will be opened to the OHTec community, and we are excited to bring together this larger group to discuss how mobile technology is being leveraged to improve businesses and/or engage customers.
For this special OHTec Speaker Series, we’re pleased to welcome Jason Buffin, an Engineer (Mobile) at Tackk, a social media startup in Cleveland. When Jason joined Tackk, it was a desktop-first platform with a responsive site. Come hear about the challenges of designing and building a mobile app to complement an already mature desktop experience. How do you make the decision of what to put in the app and what to leave out. How can the app be complementary and not just a copy of your website? Jason will discuss the way Tackk has answered these questions and some of the lessons they have learned through this process and how adding a mobile platform into the mix has influenced all aspects of our product from the API, desktop application, new product launches, and product roadmap.
In addition, Pervasive was thrilled when Mobile Monday Cleveland was asked to co-host a get together of Northeast Ohio’s tech, startup and business groups morph together for one night only during TechWeek to become some sort of powerful uber-group. And have a few beers, too.
Over the past few years, a large number of new tech events, communities and networking groups have popped up across Northeast Ohio. Along with several who’ve blazed the trail before them, these groups, this community, you(!) are re-energizing the entire region.
To celebrate this and OHTec’s annual TechWeek we’re all getting together to share some stories, make new connections and have a good time. Please join us for this community building event.
