A recent survey by Compuware confirms what you’ve no doubt heard from multiple sources recently, that mobile shopping is hot and increased significantly over the Black Friday / Cyber Monday weekend. Compuware takes the analysis one step further and focuses on iPad usage for this shopping, and identifies an interesting trend. While mobile shoppers are browsing from their tablets, retailers are not presenting optimized sites to make the most of their customer’s visit.
While almost 75% of the top 30 Internet retailers provided a mobile optimized site, not a single one of those was tailored for the iPad in order to maximize the shopping experience on a tablet. This is particularly surprising for companies like Apple and Amazon, who are driving a significant portion of their revenue from tablets and tablet optimized products.
