Mobile Commerce DailyPervasive was pleased to once again have Brian Stein, our Managing Director asked to discuss mobile payments for an article in Mobile Commerce Daily.

Today’s article, titled “Subway takes branded approach to mobile payments” discusses the advantages of retailers leveraging a payment solution they can embed within their existing mobile applications, as opposed to a third party wallet like Isis or Google Wallet, and explores the advantages of mobile payment specifically for fast food chains.

“For Subway, as with any fast food restaurant, it’s about serving customers as quickly as possible, while still providing a great customer experience,” said Brian Stein, managing director at Pervasive Path, Cleveland, OH.

“Because Subway allows customers to build their own subs, there is already an elongated cycle time and mobile payments represents an opportunity to expedite the check-out process increases order throughout,” he said.

“Use of a mobile payment system also allows Subway to encourage customers to use payment methods of their choice, including those with lower transaction costs, or even better to encourage customers to utilize a stored value card.”

Paydiant is one of a select group of mobile wallet platforms that allow brands to white label the experience which they can embed it within their own mobile application, while also providing for coupons and promotions, including SMS and push notifications.    This provides a brand like Subway a more complete loyalty and wallet experience to build campaigns around.
